Chitlang
Chitlang Organic Village Resort is organic village, the way of living life in organic style. It is located at Makawanpur district Chitlang VDC. CHITLANG is about 22 KM from Kathmandu in the South West direction. Before Opening of TRIBHUWAN RAJPATH (High way to link India and Kathmandu), CHITLANG was only one “On foot Highway” to get India and the Southern part of Nepal. Normally, motors carry people; it is only the place in the world, where motors used to carry by people because there was not road Kathmandu valley and BHIMPHEDI (a place near Terai Region of Nepal).
Many temples with amazing wood and stone carving, artistic rest houses, stone taps, available inscription of centuries long are the proof of those civilized society.
This village is surrounded by beautiful green forest, which consists of more than 160 species of birds and animal. There is a big Apple garden with more than thousand apple trees.
Famous as the gate way of motor cars carried on the back of people. Chitlang offers visitors with an opportunity of village home stay where you can interact and get insight of the rural life in Nepal. The hills of Chitlang offer one of the best hiking/trekking around Kathmandu. Camping and cycling here provides you an opportunity of getting closer to the un-disrupted ecology in the locality. The largest manmade lake of Nepal, Kulekhani (also known as Indrasarovar) is a short walk of 40 minutes from Chitlang.
2.Goat Farm
Bhedefarm:
Bhede farm is Nepal’s first sheep/goat breeding farm, but it is now a beautiful spot for movies and music videos shoot rather than a farm. You will not want to miss the chance to visit Bhedefarm. Government has goat farm project in this land. Previously there was sheep farming. With help of the firm Chitlang has taken initiation to make goat cheese.
Goat Cheese industry is run by goats milk. It is the most famous and important cheese factory in Nepal.This industry more over earns income of Chitlang. Most of Cheese is produced in this industry and then distributed all over the Nepal.
Drive from Kathmandu to Matatirtha 1 hrs and hiking 14 km to Chitlang village. Overnight at home-stay.
Village excursion and approx. 3 hrs hiking to Kulekhani Dam side, have lunch and drive back to Kathmandu.
